Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to America’s Finest Maid Service FAQ

At America’s Finest Maid Service, we’re committed to delivering more than just a clean home. Our dedicated team goes the extra mile to ensure every corner of your space sparkles and shines, using safe and effective methods that set us apart from the rest. Explore our FAQ section below to learn more about how we make your home truly shine.

Do I need to be home?

No, you don’t! Maid Service is a luxury to make your life more carefree! Enjoy your time while we attack the grime!

It’s a beautiful, magical thing, to leave a dirty house and come home to a crystal-clean palace. That’s why most clients entrust us with their keys. Our client’s keys are encoded with a serial number and stored in a safe. Your name or address is never on the key.

We go through extraordinary measures to protect your home.

What about my pets?

Pets are happiest and less stressed at home, surrounded by their familiar environment, following a customary routine. Our maids and our HEPA-filtered backpack vacuums may disrupt your pets’ routine. We love pets, but the truth is some pets don’t love us.

If your pet is predisposed to showing aggression when visitors are in your home, please alert your local office when you are booking a service.

Should I tip the maids?

Well, that depends, are you happy with your service? If the answer is yes, don’t hesitate to tip your maids.

At You’ve Got Maids, our maids are not minimum-wage employees. They earn a Team Share Commission on each happy client, which means they make more money on each job than the local owner.

Our house cleaners get paid on many different levels.

  1. First, the satisfaction of Wowing their clients.
  2. Second, previously mentioned Team Share.
  3. And third, tips. They love tips! Who wouldn’t? A nice tip puts a pep in your maids’ step.

Your hardworking maids greatly appreciate tips.

How are the maids trained?

Our maids attend Maid University! Learn more about that by clicking here.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No.

You’ve Got Maids® believes contracts are for banks and health clubs, and we’re neither. We have a simple agreement that puts pressure on us to earn your business every time.

Can your maids use my vacuum?

Yes!

If you would prefer that we use your vacuum, simply inform the office manager. It’s our pleasure to customize the work order for your home.

However, at You’ve Got Maids® we bring our HEPA-filtered vacuums and all of the other cleaning supplies. We train our maids on how to use our vacuums & how to perform regular maintenance on them.

Do you have a senior citizen discount?

Yes.

Each You’ve Got Maids office has a senior citizen discount on housekeeping for the asking, but you do have to ask for the Senior Discount at the time of the estimate. Naturally, you can’t combine this Senior Discount with any other special or deal.

Do I need to supply cleaning products?

No.

Not with You’ve Got Maids®. Clients expect our uniformed housekeepers to bring all the cleaning equipment and supplies.

Think about it. If a maid service wanted to skimp on vacuums & cleaning solutions, you have to question the other places they are cutting corners (like paying payroll taxes to protect you from the IRS or paying workers’ compensation insurance to protect you from personal injury attorneys).

When do I pay? Do you take credit cards?

Simple – Payment is due at the time of service.

It is You’ve Got Maids® policy to obtain credit card authorization for the initial cleaning and we do keep that information secured in our encrypted computer system.

Should you ever forget to leave payment, the card will be charged at the end of the day.

We accept cash, checks, and most credit cards. The majority of our Clients pay with a credit card.

Do you guarantee your house cleaners work?

100%!

Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed at You’ve Got Maids®. That means we literally guarantee your house cleaners’ work. If you are not happy with any area we’ve cleaned, simply call the office that cleaned your home within 24 hours and we will re-clean it free of charge.

This makes hiring You’ve Got Maids® virtually risk-free. Our maids are thoroughly screened through our rigorous recruitment process, and every one of them goes through our Maid University training process.
Our training never ends, we are always striving to do better for our loyal customers!

What if my housekeeper slips inside my home?

With You’ve Got Maids®, our Customers have no worries. All of our maids are our employees and are covered under our Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

You’ve Got Maids® insulates our clients from risk.

Tell me about the Move Out Landlord Guarantee.

Most You’ve Got Maids® locations* guarantee you get your deposit back, for cleaning-related issues.

If you hire You’ve Got Maids® for our 52-Point Deep Clean we guarantee your house will be clean (I mean really clean). You can have your landlord call us within 24 hours with any concerns and we will be out to fix it.

We keep coming out until your landlord is happy.

Please note, if you have put holes in the walls or burned holes in the rugs you are on your own for those things. However, when it comes to top-to-bottom cleanliness we guarantee our work. We put our money where our mouth is.

*Check with your location to see if they offer this guarantee!

What's the maid service cost-benefit analysis?

When conducting a cost-benefit analysis of using a professional maid service like You’ve Got Maids versus hiring an independent maid, the benefits of choosing a licensed and insured company are significant.

Benefits:

  1. Reliability and Accountability: You’ve Got Maids provides trained, vetted, and insured staff, ensuring consistent and reliable service. Independent maids may lack this level of oversight and may not always be available.

  2. Liability Protection: With a licensed company, you’re protected from potential liabilities, such as injuries on your property. Independent maids may not carry insurance, leaving you vulnerable to costly claims.

  3. Quality Assurance: Professional services like You’ve Got Maids have stringent training programs (like Maid University™) and quality checks in place to ensure high standards of cleanliness. With an independent maid, the quality can vary and lacks formal guarantees.

  4. Convenience: A professional service handles all aspects of scheduling, payment, and employee management, saving you time and hassle. Hiring an independent maid often involves more administrative work and can be less flexible.

While hiring an independent maid might seem cost-effective upfront, the long-term benefits of using a reputable company like You’ve Got Maids often outweigh the potential risks and challenges.

Who pays the house cleaners payroll taxes?

We do!

Hiring You’ve Got Maids® for your house cleaning services eliminates the need for you to worry about paying the tax.

Do you run criminal background checks?

You bet!

You’ve Got Maids® franchise partners are contractually obligated to run every employee through a criminal background check by their franchise. We use each potential maid’s date of birth and social security number to investigate possible criminal records, sex offender records, employment verification, social security number verification, and much more.

As a franchisor, we invest thousands of dollars each year making sure we are sending the best house cleaners into our customers’ homes. If you become a You’ve Got Maids® client you enjoy peace of mind knowing that we have done our duty to protect you and your family from the bad people who are out there. Criminals continue to offer reduced-rate house cleaning services so they can clean you out!

What if my maid trips on my sidewalk?

With You’ve Got Maids®, our Customers have no worries. All of our maids are our employees and are covered under our Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

You’ve Got Maids® insulates our Clients from risk.

Will I always have the same maids?

We’ll do our best to preserve consistency regarding which team of maids comes to your home, but we can’t promise. What we can do is try… and try hard we will.

It is our firm desire that the same maids clean your home each visit and our day-to-day goal is to send you the same house cleaning supervisor every time. We assign a supervisor to your account, and this changes only under extraordinary circumstances.

It’s the supervisor’s job to keep you happy with the maids’ service and ensure that your home is cleaned consistently to your specifications. The turnover amongst our supervisor is exceptionally low.

Can I hire your maids directly?

No, but we can help.

If you are searching for a full-time domestic maid/housekeeper, please employ You’ve Got Maids to find the best candidate. You tell us what qualities you require, and we do everything else.

We will interview, do background screening, illegal substance screening, a criminal background check, and much more. We have helped many clients find the right housekeeper.

Our referral fee is $2,995.00 or 20% of their first year’s salary, whichever is higher for any present or past You’ve Got Maids staff member introduced to you by You’ve Got Maids for any home-related service.

We’ve invested heavily in attracting, training, and retaining quality employees. It would be unfair competition if a client solicited or employed a past or present You’ve Got Maids employee to work for them directly or indirectly in any capacity whatsoever.

Our clients agree that if they break this agreement, they will immediately pay us our referral fee plus any other associated costs, including, but not limited to legal fees.

What about my pet's waste?

No. For health and sanitary issues, our maids will not handle any human or animal waste or bodily fluids.

Do you clean windows?

Some.

We window wash your front door, French doors, and any sliding glass doors in your house – these are covered every time we clean. The only time we won’t clean a sliding door is if it’s raining out OR there is a big dog on the other side!

We are insured to hand wash the interior of windows that we can reach. For safety reasons, our maids are not allowed to wash the exterior window panes as that would push us into a different worker’s compensation insurance category.

What is a maid hour?

One maid working in your home for one hour.

Let’s consider 8 maid hours:

  • It’s one maid for 8 hours or
  • A terrific team of two maids for 4 hours each, or
  • Four hard-working professional maids for 2 hours each or eight healthy housekeepers working for 1 hour each.
